History Of Swift

Maruti Suzuki started its innings in India with its first car Maruti 800 which reigned Indian roads for many years before it paved way for better models by the car maker company. 2007-2008: Maruti launched Swift Diesel in 2007. This improved version had better fuel efficiency and gave a mileage of roughly 22.35kmpl. Swift’s success became evident when it marked its 1,00,000th buyer in India by January 2007 which doubled by March 2008.

2010-2017: In 2010,Maruti gave a mild facelift to Swift by revising its gears and reworking its suspension for a better ride. In 2011, it went for a complete overhaul by improving its headlamps, tail lamps, hatch doors, and its interiors. In 2014, Swift was updated with more features like Bluetooth and keyless go. Swift’s India sales crossed a staggering 1.3 million units by April 2015. In 2017, Maruti Suzuki rebranded its sales channel by christening its new showrooms ‘Maruti Suzuki Arena’ which enabled car enthusiasts to book their cars or personalize through a revamped website and advanced navigation portal.

2018: Maruti is all set to launch its third-generation Swift at the Auto Expo 2018, starting 7th February.Auto Gear Shift transmission is being introduced for the first time in both Petrol and Diesel. The New Swift will now be available in 12 Variants.
